ჭავჭავაძის წყარო

წყარო მარტივი არქიტექტურული ფორმებით არის შედგენილი – ორ ორნამენტირებულ პილასტრზე გადასულია ლილვოვანი თაღი, ეს კონსტრუქცია კი ფრონტონით დასრულებულ ნიშაშია ჩაწერილი. წყაროს იერსახეში დომინანტურია სვეტებისა და ბაზების კაპიტელების მხატვრული გაფორმება. წყარო დათარიღებულია XX საუკუნის დასაწყისით. წყაროს ლაკონიური კომპოზიცია მსგავსია ამავე პერიოდის სხვა მცირე არქიტექტურული ფორმებისა, კერძოდ, ილია ჭავჭავაძის საფლავის ნიშის კომპოზიციისა. წყარო ერთ-ერთია იმ მცირე არქიტექტურულ ფორმათაგან, რომელიც თელავის ისტორიულ ქსოვილშია გაბნეული და ქალაქის ყოფის შემადგენელია. ამდენად, წყაროს აქვს, როგორც მხატვრულ-არქიტექტურული, ისე ეთნოგრაფიული ღირებულება. 

The fount is made up of simple architectural forms – two ornamented pilasters have a vault, and this structure is placed in a niche finished with a pediment. The artistic design of the capitals of the columns and bases dominate in the appearance of the fount. The fount dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The laconic composition of the fount is similar to the composition of other small architectural forms of the same period, in particular with the composition of the niche of the tomb of Ilya Chavchavadze. The fount is one of the small architectural forms scattered in the historical tissues of Telavi and is part of the city life. Thus, the fount has both artistic-architectural and ethnographic value.
