connected to the northwest by one of the oldest \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d districts of Telavi. \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d district is a branch of \u201cZuzumbo\u2019s Gora (hill)\u201d and borders \u201cKadori\u2019s Gora (hill)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDabakhnebi\u201d district is bordered by Chavchavadze Street in the north-west.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The name \u201cDabakhana\u201d comes from the word \u201cDabaghi\u201d, which means a leather craftsman. There were shops and private houses of leather craftsmen on this district. Presumably, there should have been a \u201cDabaghnebi\u201d leather craftsmen residence in the \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A cold, natural spring water flows in the gorge of \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d, which starts from \u201cZuzumbo Gora (hill)\u201d. Before that it was called \u201cMatsantsara Spring water\u201d as the place carried the toponym of this area from the very beginning. Today, the locals refer to this place as \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d or \u201cGanjelebi\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The name \u201cDabakhnebi\u201d was later coined when the first leather processing workshops appeared here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second name \u201cGanjelebi\u201d was given to this territory due to the fact that in the so-called \u201cOld Royal Wall\u201d, which was a barren place for the second half of the 18th century, king Erekle II settled about 60 Armenian families who had been forcibly relocated from Karabakh and Ganja (Elizavetopol). After settling in Telavi, they started crafts and trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fount is located in the blind alley of the street and can be reached via a paved path. The volume, consisting of simple architectural forms, is mostly made of Georgian bricks. Over two large rectangular carved stones is a brick arch with decorative profiled capitals. As can be seen from the damaged sections, there are brick projections on the sides of the half-columns. The use of such projection by the builder should, to some extent, be a decorative intent. The source dates back to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. At this stage, there is no water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fount is one of the small architectural forms that is scattered in historical tissue of Telavi and is a part of the medieval life of the city.
